About me
Hi, I’m Anthony!
I’m a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling - Provisional (MPCC-Provisional) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association.
I help people navigate the challenges and transitions of life with a client-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed approach. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
My approach to counselling is integrative and inspired by a variety of therapeutic modalities, including: Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Parts Work. These approaches give us flexibility to find what resonates most for you.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent nearly a decade as a Registered Massage Therapist in BC. That experience taught me how closely our mental, emotional, and physical health are connected - and how important it is to treat the whole person. I’ve supported clients not only with their health goals, but also in self-advocating within healthcare systems, accessing resources, and finding the right support at the right time.
Some areas I work with include:
Men’s mental health
Chronic pain
Anxiety and depression
Life transitions
Stress and burnout
Grief and loss
Relationship challenges
Self-esteem and identity
Suicidal ideation
Sex or porn addiction
Financial trauma
If you’re feeling ready to take the next step, I’d be glad to walk alongside you. I believe meaningful change happens in the context of a safe, supportive relationship, and my commitment is to meet you where you are, move at your pace, and support you in building resilience, clarity, and a stronger sense of self so you can navigate life with greater confidence and ease.
Qualifications:
Professional Counselling Diploma - Rhodes Wellness College (2025)
Life Coaching Diploma - Rhodes Wellness College (2023)
What is a Chrysalis and how does it relate to Counselling?
The caterpillar entering into the process of transformation to become a butterfly offers a powerful metaphor for the change that can happen in counselling.
It often begins with some kind of signal that something in life needs to shift - an inner knowing, or a challenge that makes change feel necessary (perhaps this is the reason you’ve found yourself here).
The caterpillar then seeks out a safe place to enter the vulnerable state that becoming encased in a chrysalis requires (much like the search for a safe, supportive space in counselling).
Once safety is established, the caterpillar creates a foundation to anchor itself for the process of transformation (developing a strong therapeutic relationship with a counsellor or other helper).
From there, it turns inward. At first the skin is soft, but soon it hardens into a protective shell, holding the caterpillar as it dissolves into its basic elements.
Out of that dissolution, something entirely new begins to form. The same cells reorganize, shift, and take shape as a butterfly - an entirely different being with new strengths and possibilities.
A key part of this process is that the butterfly must not be helped when struggling to break free of the chrysalis. The very act of pushing against the shell is what gives its wings the strength to fly. If someone were to cut the chrysalis open, the butterfly would never develop the resilience it needs to survive.
This process parallels counselling. At its core, person-centred therapy is grounded in the belief that every person holds an innate capacity to grow and self-actualize. Sometimes, what’s needed is the right environment and support to help rediscover and strengthen that capacity. Nothing external enters the chrysalis, and nothing is added from outside - the butterfly was always within the caterpillar.
